International Foundation Certificate (Electrical/Electronics Engineering)

The International Foundation Certificate (IFC) will allow you to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to move on, with confidence, to the first year of the Higher National Diploma (HND) programme in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

Delivered in a modular way, the IFC is ideal for students who aspire to pursue further studies in engineering leading to a bachelor’s degree via the HND. Applicants must have completed the national matriculation examination with a good pass in English and Mathematics or are currently undergoing studies at the AGTI.
The course duration is 16 months and is focused on building a firm foundation in basic engineering knowledge and English language proficiency.

Higher National Diploma (Electrical/Electronics Engineering)

The Higher National Diploma (HND) programme in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology is a well established UK national qualification from Edexcel Foundation that places academic theory within a practical context. The course is suitable for those who intend to pursue a career in the engineering industry.

On successful completion of the HND, students can progress onto the final year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) degree course at the University of Sunderland (UK Campus or Singapore Campus with Tyndale Education Group).

All 16 modules are assessed by projects and written assignments. There are no formal examinations but some modules contain in-class tests. Students are also taught employability and life skills to ease their transition from classroom to the workplace.

Course Duration

Two academic years of 4 semesters of classroom Laboratory and Workshop activities.

Entry Requirements
